R.I.P BSN, the place that taught me how to deal with people on the internet

It makes me really sad. I visit the Twitter thread daily, and if you think about it, it is the Bioware forum that brought all of us together.

I know they probably have to do it for business purposes, but it still is sad.

VARRIC, IS THAT YOU?!?!

I was on twitter and saw a tweet from BioWare to someone venting about it and they said (I paraphrase slightly because I can't find the tweet)

"The developers not being active on the forums was a disservice to the fans, this decision was not made lightly"

So....you decided to answer a disservice.....with an even greater disservice? I love BioWares games, but their PR is fucking atrocious 

Aww that's sad, because yes, it's where we all met, and as with Moniker it's where I first started talking to people on the internet. An end of an era.. and dammit as I'm typing this the sad music from ME3 started playing 



However, I do understand what they're saying. Social media leaves a lot of ways for them to offer updates etc. Still, it won't be the same. Twitter doesn't allow much space for you to write down your thoughts and that community feel is gone forever now. 

Someone on the Twitter thread had it right when they said that it was a place for FANS to interact.  The devs may not have been on much, but it was so much more the fans that drove the forums.

Still a bit sad and upset they are closing them down.  Maybe if enough uproar is done, they won't shut them down. (faint hope, I know).
